KL Eco City - Mercu 2
KL Eco City (KLEC) Office Tower 2 a.k.a Mercu 2is a Grade A, 40-storey corporate office building located within KLEC mixed-used development at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. KLEC dveelopment has excellent connectivity with an integrated rail network (with Abdullah Hukum LRT station and KLEC KTM station), new access ramps/link bridges from Federal Highway & NPE, and a pedestrian link bridge connected directly to Mid Valley City.
The building energy intensity of KLEC Mercu 2 is 102 kWh/m2/year, which is approximately 50% more energy efficient than a typical office tower in Malaysia.
KLEC Mercu 2 was the first among all towers in KLEC development to achieve GBI Completion & Verification Assessment (CVA) certificate.
Innovative Sustainability Features
Low heat transfer through building envelope & roof through the use of laminated tempered double-glazed unit (DGU) and roof insulation.
More than 50% of facade windows are shaded with horizontal sun-shading louvres.
Lighting design and a lighting control system depending on daylight and occupancy.
More than 50% of roof space is covered with solar PV panels, approximately 85 kWp.
Use of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) & Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) certified wood-products.
Use of non-chemical water treatment system.
Use of eletronic static filter in all air-handling units (AHUs).
Use of pressure independent balancing control valve (PIBCV) to control & balance the flow of chilled water from AHU.
Use of energy efficient lift with regenerativce drive.
Design of rainwater harvesting system & wastewater recycling system.
