IEN has written the article "House on fire" about the urgent necessity of introducing carbon taxation. In a World where climate change has been identified as an existential threat to humanity, it is alarming that the cause of the problem, fossil fuels, are being massively subsidized, namely to the tune of USD5.2trillion per year corresponding to 6.5% of the global GDP according to the IMF. Metaphorically speaking, our house is on fire, and we are adding fuel to the fire. Interestingly, carbon taxation, if done as a Fee & Dividend scheme, can be a popular and win instant approval from most of the population.
